Christmas is just over nine weeks away, but we have an early gift for you from Net Entertainment – the first look at their Christmas-themed slots.
NetEnt have taken two popular slots, Fruit Shop and Flowers, and given them both a Christmas overhaul. Interestingly, the software provider hasn’t ever created Christmas-themed slots, so this is a first for them and from the footage, it’s looking good.
Fruit Shop – Christmas Edition
While NetEnt have chosen to give the popular slots an overhaul, they are still quite similar albeit a Christmas theme applied.
Our favourite bright, colourful, classic Fruit Shop slot has been decorated by NetEnt and we are greeted by a big snowman and a snow-covered christmas tree on the side of the reels for an extra touch.
We can see a starry crisp night behind the reels, and the classic fruit symbols, as well as all the traditional 10, J, ,Q, K, and A symbols, have been all been frozen thanks to the snow.
NetEnt have kept all our favourite features, which was a good move since this slot is popular for a reason, as well as the standard 15 paylines over 5 reels.
Wild symbol: Wilds are great when it comes to classic fruit machines and in the Christmas Edition of Fruit Machine it substitutes for any symbol to create a winning payline, just like in the original.
Free spins: Just like the standard Fruit Shop slot, whenever you spin a win comprising of at least two frozen fruit symbols you will activate the free spins mode where all winnings are doubled. The more times you land a spin with this fruit combination the more free spins you will keep triggering.
Flowers – Christmas Edition
The Christmas version of Flowers sees the reels transformed into a snowy wonderland, with christmas decorations wrapped around the edge. Instead of the crystal blue sky in the original Flowers, we are greeted with a starry evening, similar to the one in the Christmas version of Fruit Shop. Additionally, the traditional A, K, Q, and J symbols have been turned into gingerbread.
The Christmas edition of Flowers, features all the same bonus rounds and features, including Stacked Wilds and Free Spins.
Stacked Wilds: Stacked Wilds are a big feature in the standard Flowers slot and it looks like, from the video promo, that they’re sticking around. These can cover an entire reel to create more chances at a win, and appear in the Free Spins feature.
Free Spins: They’ve also kept the Free spins feature, which is triggered by four Free Spins symbols. All wins are multiplied by 3x here.
Double symbols: Additionally, they’ve kept the unique Double symbols bonus feature, which involves one symbol working as two symbols in the one position, in order to create more winning paylines.
The slots have been lined with Christmas decorations, as well as all things festive, and both will be released in December just in time for the holidays.
